The date of opening of admissions, availability of forms and other
details are announced through advertisement in the local newspapers
of Pakistan.
A student is not allowed to submit more than one admission form,
nor can he/she make any changes in the form after it is submitted.
If any candidate is found submitting more than one form, all of his
/ her forms will be cancelled.
Candidates submitting forms for reserved seats can submit a separate
form for this purpose, which is available in the office of the Deputy
Registrar (Academic), first floor, Administration building, University
of Karachi. These candidates can also submit the form for open merit
seats. However, the order of preference of departments should be same
in both forms.
University employees who wish to avail of the seats reserved for
them will have to submit an affidavit on a form, which is available
in the office of the Deputy Registrar (Academic), similarly form can
be obtained for quota for Armed Forces Personnel.
Disabled persons who wish to apply for seats reserved for them
are required to submit a medical certificate giving details of their
disability.
Students applying on Sports seats may obtain admission form from
Office of Deputy Registrar (Academic) within the specified dates.
Subject to eligibility on reserved seats for FATA and Azad Jammu
& Kashmir are granted through the Kashmir Affairs & Northern Areas
Division, Government to Pakistan, Islamabad.
Applicants who wish to apply for both open merit and reserved seats
should submit separate forms for both. However, the priority list
for Departments should be the same on both the forms.
The list of admission for reserved seats will be prepared separately
by the concerned committee.
Those who are seeking admission on the basis of 0/ A level or any
other qualification at par with H.S.C. are required to submit a copy
of equivalence certificate issued by the University of Karachi or
Intermediate Board Chairmen's Committee (IBCC) together with the application
form, otherwise their application will not be entertained
Applicants who wish to avail marks of Hifz-e-Quran should submit
a photocopy of their Hifz-e-Quran certificate along with their form.
They are reminded that 20 marks will be added to their total, however,
candidate's grade or division is not changed on the basis of these
marks.
If any candidate feels that his / her name has not been included
in the merit list even though he/she has secured merit marks and satisfies
the other conditions of eligibility for admission to any department
he / she has applied for, such candidates should obtain a Claim Form
from the Camp office, on payment of prescribed fee and submit it within
the stipulated period. If the claim is found to be valid, the cost
of claim form will be refunded and admission will be granted to the
candidate according to rules and regulations.
Candidates submitting forms for reserved seats should submit a
separate form for this purpose, which is available from the office
of the Deputy Registrar (Academic). These candidates can also submit
the form for open merit seats given in this booklet.
After completion of the above formalities, the candidate will have
to fill in an enrolment form. Under the University rules, admission
will not be deemed complete until the student receives the enrolment
card.
Students who have passed their last examination from Board or Institution
located outside Karachi have to submit a migration certificate from
the concerned Board or Institute in order to complete the enrolment
formalities.
