1- Pakistan Physical Society (PPS)

The Pakistan Physical Society (PPS), a body of professional physicists, was launched in 1989 and registered in 1990. Its aims and objectives include among others, promotion of physics education and research, popularization and creation of wider awareness of physics and its role in technology and industry. Its activities include organizing symposia, seminars, workshops and conferences in physics. The society is an affiliate chapter of the American Physical Society (APS)

2- Pakistan Society for Semiconductor Science and Technology (PS3T)

Pakistan Society for Semiconductor Science and Technology (PS3T) was established in 1989 primarily to raise awareness of the importance of research and development activity in the field of semiconductors for the development of human society, in general, and for developing countries like Pakistan, in particular. It was intended to provide a forum for the scientific and technological manpower in the Country for their closer mutual contact and scientific cooperation, leading to the overall development of the Country through strengthening of R&D effort in the field of semiconductors.

3- Pakistan Nuclear Society (PNS)

Pakistan Nuclear Society (PNS) came into being in 1991 and so far has a membership of well over one thousand and five hundreds. Pakistan Nuclear Society is a non-governmental, non-political and no profit making organization in its mission. It is a democratic forum, which provides an opportunity for the realization of the aspiration of its members. Pakistan Nuclear Society is a member of the International Nuclear Society Council (I.N.S.C). It has liaison with European Nuclear Society and American Nuclear Society.
Aims and Objectives:
• To promote the advancement of research in nuclear science and technology and allied disciplines.
• Promote application of nuclear science and technology for public welfare in areas of power, agriculture, medicine and industry.

7. Pakistan Association for Advancement of Sciences (PAAS)

Introduction: Soon after the establishment of Pakistan recognizing an urgent need for a scientific in the country for the promotion and development of science and to make arrangements for the publication of scientific papers as well as a forum for scientific meetings, the Pakistan Association for Advancement of Science was founded of 12th December, 1947 at a largely attended scientist’s meeting held at the Punjab University of Institute of Chemistry (now Allama Iqbal Campus) Lahore. Prof. M. Afzal Hussain former Vice-Chancellor of the Punjab University was elected as its President and Dr. Bashir Ahmad, Director, Institute of Chemistry, Punjab University Lahore as the General Secretary.
Aims & Objectives:
To work for the general advancement of science including its application to practical problems.
(a) To promote and encourage research in different branches of science and to help development of science at the national level.
(b) To hold meeting to discuss National Policy and other problems of special importance to the country.
(c) To stimulate public interest and enlist public support for science.
(d) To organize conferences, symposium, seminars on subjects of scientific interest, expeditions and field studies.
(e) To award research fellowship, prize, medals and financial grant-in-aid for special research.
(f) To publish Proceeding, Journals, Memoirs, Transactions and Monographs as may be found desirable and feasible for dissemination of knowledge concerning pure and applied science.
(g) To promote and safeguard the interest of scientific workers in Pakistan.
(h) To undertake the establishment of Science Centers in major town in country.
(i) To maintain, develop and extend in international relations in the field of science and maintain contacts with foreign scientific organizations with similar objects.
(j) To secure, administer and raise funds, grants and endowments for the realization of the above objects.

8. Pakistan Association of Scientists and Scientific Professions (PASSP)

Introduction: The Pakistan Association of Scientists and Scientific Professions (PASSP) is a voluntary body of scientists, technologists and engineers serving in research organizations, universities, colleges, schools, government Departments as well as industry. 10. Computer Society of Pakistan (CSP)

Introduction:
The Computer Society of Pakistan (CSP) is the national organization of Information Technology professionals in the country. It was established in 1973 to promote the use of computers, increase general awareness among the public and to look after the professional interests of the IT personnel in the country.

The Society holds lectures, seminars and technology forums which provide an excellent platform for the interaction of professionals. It organizes annual computer exhibitions and software competitions all over the country with the objective of fostering a better future for IT in Pakistan.

The Computer Society of Pakistan sponsors students to take part in the international software competitions in various countries as well as organizes various programs for the youth. 13. Networkers’ Society of Pakistan (NSP)

Introduction: Formation of The Networkers’ Society of Pakistan (NSP) was announced on 9th August 2005, at a grand inaugural ceremony, along with the commencement of ITCN Asia 2005, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Privatization & Investment, the Federal Ministry of IT & Telecom and E-Commerce Gateway Singapore.

NSP is the first of its kind in Pakistan. It has been formed with a view to providing a shared domain for the Networking professionals and aspirants, network service providers and consumers, and will serve as a catalyst to boost the Networking and communication industry in Pakistan. 14. Pakistan Information Technology Forum (PITF)

Introduction: The Pakistan Information Technology Forum (PITF) is an organization to promote Information Technology in Pakistan, help and provide guidance to our young generation, so that they get required information, quality training about today’s and tomorrow’s technology the Information Technology.

Pakistan Information Technology last year was supported by only Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan, and with the start of new millennium PITF received the huge support from Export Promotion Bureau, Government of Pakistan. 15. Knowledge Management Society of Pakistan (KMSP)

Knowledge Management Society of Pakistan (KMSP) was established in January 2005, with support of scholars, academicians and professionals of Pakistan striving to promote Knowledge Management practices for transforming Pakistan into a knowledge society. The society has established good working relationships with other national and international societies striving to promote KM.

Knowledge Management Society of Pakistan (KMSP) is a registered charitable organization under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, Government of Pakistan and is lead under the Chairmanship of Dr. M. We will not meet our objectives overnight. KMSP is moving towards motivating the creation of policy frameworks for the next five years. (iv). To inculcate and practice the values of the knowledge professional: innovative, continuously learning, open, sharing, networking, and enabling.
(v). To explore and promote new ways of knowledge based employment through exploiting Information and Communication Technologies in order to eradicate poverty.
(vi). On non-profit basis, establish educational institutes of international repute to conduct research and impart quality education to make Pakistan a “Knowledge Society” leading towards a sustainable and prosperous future.
(vii). To grant scholarships to intelligent and deserving students to continue their educational pursuit.
(viii). To recognize, fund and facilitate researchers to conduct innovative and creative research activities in lieu the national interest.
(ix). On non-profit basis, provide lifelong learning opportunities through conducting Knowledge Based trainings, certification courses, workshops, seminars, exhibitions, conferences and other knowledge promotional activities.
