I welcome you to the web site of the department of Physics, University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan. As you would know, Physics is at the roots of all the natural science and it is the corner stone of modern engineering. The department of Physics provides a friendly atmosphere where students can interact very closely with the faculty. It tries to develop conceptual knowledge as well as problem-solving skills, which would help students in their career.

Physics graduates find jobs in various areas like government research institutes and organization as well as companies in private sector. The department offers B.S., B.Sc. (Honors), M.Sc., MPhil. and Ph.D. degree programs. Students working for their Masters are exposed to classical and quantum mechanics, thermal physics, electricity and magnetism, modern physics, optics, advanced mathematical physics and computational physics. In addition, they choose their area of specialization from:

Today, in the age of tough competition, one not only equips him / herself with a good academic degree but also tries to get extra skills.
